The BT001 uses the fingerprints of a newborn infant to positively link the infant to its mother and to identify the infant in the event that traditional mechanisms such as wrist and ankle bands fail. In the event of a multiple birth, this technology can also be used to distinguish each newborn. In addition to the identification of the infant, the BT001 can also be used to identify and track all staff, visitors and relatives that handle the infant. This helps to prevent infant theft and serves to positively identify those individuals who have been granted access to the infant. More
